This level 2 safeguarding children in Wales course has been specifically designed to deliver the background needed to understand the safeguarding responsibilities of teachers, coaches and anyone who works with children. The course is available through the medium of both Welsh and English.
Safeguarding is a statutory requirement if you work with children either professionally or in a volunteering capacity so that you have up to date knowledge of safeguarding policies, legislation and guidance. The course will help to increase your existing safeguarding knowledge, raise awareness of child safeguarding and the key responsibilities of individuals who require a more detailed knowledge of the topic. It will remind you how to identify abuse and report concerns as well as learn more about the safeguarding structure, recognising risks and what happens after a referral to social care has been made.

Assessment
Once you have completed the course you will need to do an online assessment. The assessment consists of 24 multiple choice questions which are marked automatically. You will instantly know whether you have passed or not. The pass mark is 80%. If you fail the assessment, you will be able to retake the quiz again, free of charge.
Certificate
Once you have successfully completed the assessment, one of the administrators will verify your completion and then send your certificate either via email or post.

- What is the difference between safeguarding level 1 and 2?
This course is a safeguarding level 2 which offers a more in-depth knowledge and understanding of safeguarding compared to the level 1 equivalent.
- How long does it take to complete the course?
The course can take however long you want. If you wish to complete the course in one sitting, then it should take you about 90minutes. However, you are also free to complete one module at a time.
- How do I start?
You will need to enrol for the course via our Dosbarth website. One of the administrators will then send out detailed instructions explaining how to begin the course.
- How much time do I have to complete my course?
- Can I retake the course if I fail the assessment first time?
Yes if you fail the assessment at the end of the course you can retake the course to improve your score. The pass mark is 80%.
